The moody damp landscape of Ireland, where I grew up, lends itself to the flowing pigments and properties of watercolor. I am fascinated by clouds and weather and attempt to portray the feelings they evoke; it is magical. Ireland is a country of storytellers, and I try to capture a story with each painting then pass that along to the viewer.
When I travel, I carry a small palette, and of course, my backup phone camera. Later in the studio, I use these sketches as reference for larger works. My artwork continues to grow and evolve with each adventure.
I have been influenced by Jan Koutsky, Sandra Kahler, Jan Hart, Cathe Gill, Jennifer Carrasco, Enda Bardell, and all my creative friends!! I continue to study with Sandra Kahler and paint with friends whenever possible. I believe this helps me explore new ideas and techniques and keeps me from becoming stale. But why do I paint? Because it makes me happy!!

General Education: I was educated in Ireland with a degree in nursing.
Art Education: I attended classes at South Seattle Community College in drawing, design and painting and fell in love with watercolor due to the influence of Jan Koutsky! I take classes and workshops as often as I can and appreciate all of those creative people who challenge me to do my best.
